Podding Peas - Country Kids

Our garden is not big, but we do have three raised beds in it that MadDad built and this year we have a bumper crop of peas.  As of yet we still have not managed to eat any with our meals as Mini keeps helping himself!

The boys are currently making the most of every moment of sun and were both on the swings in the PJ's tonight after bathtime.

They do not want this summer to end.  Neither do I.

  1. I love homegrown veggies, such good fun planting them, even better fun harvesting and eating them, yummy looking peas :)

  2. How lovely! Our peas didn't survive the heatwave we had :( We did get several cucumbers though! It's so lovely to be able to eat veggies that you've grown yourself - my boys loved it! #CountryKids

  3. When we had our garden in UK, my kids loved watching the herbs and veggies grow. My biggest problem was teaching them to be patient about when to pick them.

  4. That is fantastic that you've grown them and that Mini is so keen to eat them.

  5. We've also had a fab year for Peas. All of the peas and beans have been very prolific this year. Peas in particular are a very good crop to grow with children. I had a friend who had her kids referring to them a 'green sweetie trees' when they were small ;-)

  6. My children call them garden sweets. We haven't grown them this year, but usually I have to grow quite a few rows just to get some for the table.

  8. Home grown - I'm not surprised Mini wasn't sharing! Let's hope the sun continues and we can all enjoy some more fun outside. Thanks for linking up and sharing on Country Kids.

  9. Lovely pic and great that they're making the most of every moment out there in the garden. We'll be growing peas next year and really looking forward to it.

  10. It's been a great summer.

Peas are meant to be stolen from the pods ;0)

  11. Peas straight from the pod are son's favourite thing to eat at the moment. Must grow some next year.

  12. Love homegrown veg. We have the same 'problem' with peas from the pod, but mange tout have made it to the table (even though some of those have been eaten raw too).

  13. Podding peas is great fun isn't it? My toddler loves doing it, though only from the shop, we didn't grow any this year on our balcony, just beans, tomatoes, salad and herbs; maybe next year! Popping over from #countrykids
